The power forward position is starting to attract more interest ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft, as some prospects are breaking out of the pack.

This year’s NBA Draft class is absolutely brimming with talent. While Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper are attracting all the headlines, the entire class is quite deep.

Flagg headlines an average small forward class heading into June 25th. On the other hand, Harper stands out among some great point guards.

Ace Bailey and VJ Edgecombe lead the shooting guards in the 2025 NBA Draft class. But one position that has quietly earned a lot of attention is the power forward role.

In the lead-up to the draft, some prominent names have climbed the projections. NBA Analysis Network’s mock draft currently has two of these players going in the lottery.

But who are the best power forwards in the 2025 NBA Draft class?

3. Asa Newell

4. Rasheer Fleming

5. Lachlan Olbrich

University/Previous Team: Illawarra HawksHeight (without shoes): 6’9Stats: 8.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 59.0% FG, N/A – 3-PT

Essengue, Murray-Boyles, and Newell lead power forwards in 2025 NBA Draft class

Of the five players listed above, Noa Essengue, Collin Murray-Boyles, and Asa Newell are players teams are looking to land in the first round.

Essengue, in particular, has some lottery teams second-guessing their pick. While it’s unlikely these players break into the top 8 of the NBA Draft, they can still develop into strong NBA players.

Fleming and Olbrich, on the other hand, will probably be late-first-round or early-second-round picks who can come in and make an immediate impact on teams that are ready to compete.

The power forward position isn’t nearly as stacked as either guard spot in this year’s class. But there is immense growth potential for the players mentioned in this list.
