Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season with a torn right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), the team announced today. Butler III suffered the injury with 7:41 remaining in the third quarter of last night’s 135-112 win over the Miami Heat and will undergo surgery at a to-be-determined date.
Butler III appeared in 38 games (all starts) this season, averaging 20.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.1 minutes per game. Since Butler III’s acquisition on February 5, 2025, the Warriors own a 50-29 (.632) record and are currently a season-high six games over .500 at 25-19.
A 15-year NBA veteran, Butler III owns career averages of 18.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 33.0 minutes over 907 games (802 starts) with the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat and Warriors. He was originally selected by the Bulls with the 30th overall pick in the 2011 Draft after a three-year collegiate career at Marquette University.
