Caleb Tirado is only two fights into his professional career, but the Puerto Rican bantamweight is already doing exactly what young fighters need to do: stay active, keep winning and keep learning.
Tirado improved to 2-0 on June 14 with a six-round unanimous decision victory over Osmar Gamez in Grand Rapids, banking valuable rounds against a durable opponent after stopping Justin Hill inside two rounds on his debut in January.
For a young fighter still adjusting to the professional game, those six rounds may prove just as valuable as the victory itself.
“I thank God for the victory and for giving me the opportunity to compete on this stage,” Tirado told World Boxing News.
“I’m grateful for the performance, but I’m also my biggest critic. Every fight is a chance to learn, improve, and keep growing. I know I have another level to reach, and I’m committed to getting there.”
Building Momentum
Two fights in five months is exactly the kind of activity many prospects need early in their careers.
Rather than chasing knockouts or rushing toward bigger names, Tirado is gaining experience while building a professional foundation.
His latest outing provided something different from his debut. Instead of an early stoppage, he was forced to work through six rounds and solve problems along the way.
“As a young professional, every round is valuable because it helps me gain experience,” he explained.
“At the same time, if the opportunity to finish the fight presents itself, I’m always prepared to take it. The most important thing was getting the win and continuing to improve.”
Tirado understands there are no shortcuts at this stage of his career.
Salita Promotions Platform
With Salita Promotions backing his career, Tirado believes he has the platform required to continue progressing through the bantamweight ranks.
The bantamweight division has attracted renewed attention since Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez entered the weight class, creating opportunities for young fighters looking to make an impression.
“Salita Promotions has provided me with a great platform to showcase my skills and continue developing my career,” said Tirado.
“I appreciate their confidence in me, and I’m looking forward to growing together and reaching bigger stages.”
Promoter Dmitriy Salita views Tirado as a fighter capable of becoming one of Puerto Rico’s next breakout stars and believes his style and personality could eventually resonate with boxing fans throughout the United States.
World rankings remain a long-term target for the 25-year-old rather than an immediate concern.
However, Tirado already has a clear vision for what he wants to achieve.
“My goal is to stay active, continue developing as a professional, and take on bigger challenges.
“I want to build my name in the sport, represent Puerto Rico with pride, and move closer to the world rankings one fight at a time.”

Looking Ahead
Puerto Rico continues to produce world-class talent, with Oscar Collazo, Xander Zayas and Amanda Serrano all flying the flag at the highest level of the sport.
Tirado believes fans will continue seeing a fighter focused on improvement every time he steps through the ropes.
“Fans can expect dedication, discipline, exciting performances, and a fighter who is always looking to improve. I’ll continue working hard, trusting God, and proudly representing Puerto Rico every time I step into the ring.”
For now, the focus remains simple: stay active, gain experience and continue improving with every fight while laying the foundations for bigger opportunities.
With momentum on his side and a team he trusts behind him, the future appears to be moving in the right direction.
“I’m ready to get back in the ring as soon as the right opportunity presents itself,” Tirado said.
“My team is already working on what’s next, and I’m excited for the future.”
