“O’Shaquie all day. Anybody on that side, I’m not rooting for. I ain’t gonna lie,” said Floyd Schofield Jr. to Fighthype when asked for his prediction on the Foster-Ford matchup. “Ray’s a great fighter. Guy has tremendous skill. From his vlogs, I be seeing hard worker. He’s entertaining, in my opinion. He can talk his talk and, as far as we’ve seen, he can kind of walk it.”
Schofield acknowledged Ford’s ability but pointed to Foster’s experience and mentality as reasons he expects the champion to come out on top.
“I think he got that dog in him. I just like his persona over Ray anyway. He don’t do too much talking. He just go in the ring and handle his business, and that’s how it should be done,” said Schofield Jr.
The unbeaten lightweight contender went even further when discussing how the fight could play out.
“Ray gonna get his ass whipped. I don’t want to say get his ass whipped. If he get his ass whipped, that would be amazing from O’Shaquie to go in there and be able to do that to Ford,” said Schofield Jr. “But I think the experience, and I think Ford is definitely probably underestimating him.”
Ford enters the fight looking to become a two-division world champion after previously holding a title at featherweight. Foster, meanwhile, is seeking another successful defense of the WBC belt and has repeatedly insisted that Ford is underestimating the level of opposition he is about to face.
