Hearn’s “No Excuses” Promise: Can A Perfectly Prepared Conor Benn Defeat The Bigger, More Experienced Chris Eubank Jr.?

Eddie Hearn had his salesman hat on Tuesday’s grand arrivals for Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn, talking up Conor’s chances on Saturday night in their headliner at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Hearn’s description of Benn (23-0, 14 KO KOs) made him sound like an android that will go out on a seek and destroy mission after he pushes a button. Benn may need to be emotionless and determined to carry out his mission because he normally fights out of control. That approach will not work against Eubank Jr. (34-3, 25 KOs), who is a thinking fighter who will outsmart him.

Hearn was wild-eyed, talking about what Benn is going to do to Eubank Jr, and he seems like he really believes he’s going to do the job on a bigger, more experienced fighter in their headliner on DAZN PPV.

“No Excuses” Benn

“If we could program Conor Benn, we wouldn’t need a training camp. We’d have a special button that just enables Conor Benn to turn up at the absolute peak of his powers,” said Eddie Hearn to iFL TV, talking up Conor ahead of his fight against Chris Eubank Jr. this Saturday night in London.

If Hearn could program Benn, his chances of winning would go way up because he would make the right decisions against Chris Jr. without deviating.

“No excuses. The absolute sharpest version of Conor is coming, and I believe that’s going to be good enough. Conor Benn is a big welterweight,” said Hearn. “On Saturday night, Chris Eubank Sr’s son will be fighting Nigel Benn’s son in front of 65,000 people.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime generational fight, and it’s going to be a great undercard as well. This is going to be electric. Let’s live in the moment and enjoy it. In the fight, it’s a 50-50 fight,” said Hearn about Eubank Jr. vs. Benn.
