What JJ Redick told Lakers in timeout rant to motivate them to go on 3rd quarter game-winning run

JJ Redick was incredibly frustrated as the Los Angeles Lakers seemingly gave up their advantage, and went off on them in a timeout.

JJ Redick and the Los Angeles Lakers got a massive 94-85 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Heading into a tough Game 2, the Lakers stepped up and delivered.

Luka Doncic had his second consecutive game with 30+ points, scoring 31 for the Lakers. In doing so, Doncic matched a Lakers record last set by Shaquille O’Neal.

But don’t get it twisted – the Lakers did not have it easy. If anything, the Minnesota Timberwolves made them graft in this win.

At one point, the Lakers were struggling so much that JJ Redick called a timeout and went off on his team. And that proved to be a great call, as it motivated them massively to go on a big run.

JJ Redick blasts players in NSFW timeout

With seven minutes remaining in the third quarter, JJ Redick could see the his team losing control of the game, thus jeopardizing what at that point was an 11-point lead.

Redick smartly called a timeout. And then proceeded to go on a tirade, telling his players to start focusing in an explicit-laden rant.

“Time out. What the f*** is going on? Jesus f***ing Christ, what the f*** are you guys doing? Come on!”

Whatever Redick told them in the timeout after was inaudible. But it seemed to work, as the Lakers would go on to score 19 points in the remaining time and take a 16-point lead into the fourth quarter.

“Time out. What the f*ck is going on. Jesus f*cking Christ, what the f*ck are you guys doing. Come on!”

Lakers held on to get big win

The Los Angeles Lakers did not have a good fourth-quarter performance by any means. They scored just four field goals and missed all their deep attempts.

But they played some strong defense, and the Timberwolves also struggled to score. No matter what the the lakers tried, the Timberwolves did their best to stifle it.

In the end, LA did enough in the first three quarters to create a gulf. And while things came close, the Lakers did enough to hold on and get a win.

Now, the Lakers will travel to Minnesota to play the Timberwolves for Games 3 and 4. Their hope is to get at least one game on the road against them.
