Ryan Garcia posted a training video today of working on his speed jabs in his living room pad workout. It’s the second living room workout this week posted on social media, suggesting that he’s got a fight in the planning stages.
Living Room Sessions
Fans want to see Garcia (24-2, 20 KOs) back to fight WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios, WBA champion Rolly Romero, or Devin Haney.
Ryan’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions, says there are “talks” for him. He says he wants Garcia to fight “one of the top champions.” That would be Rolly, Barrios, or the winner of the Devin Haney vs. Brian Norman Jr. fight.
De La Hoya Drops a Hint
“Right now, I don’t know if Ryan is still going through rehab for his hand or shoulder,” promoter Oscar De La Hoya said to the AH Show about Ryan Garcia. “There are fight talks. I would want him to fight the very best, again.

The fight that makes the most sense for Ryan is a rematch with Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero for his WBA welterweight title. Garcia needs to avenge his 12-round unanimous decision loss that he suffered against Rolly earlier this year on May 2 at Times Square in New York.
Ryan froze after being dropped by Romero in round two and never did much of anything for the remainder of the fight. It looked like he was afraid of getting caught again by Rolly, so he fought defensively against a very beatable fighter.
No Tune-Ups Left
Rolly was telegraphing every punch he threw by making a loud screeching sound. It was obvious whenever he would punch, and bizarre that Ryan didn’t take advantage of this flaw the way that Isaac Cruz had in 2024.
“I would love to see him up there against one of the top champions, there’s no tune-ups here anymore, not at this level,” said De La Hoya.
