Bill Haney posted on X:
“First, it was the money. Now it’s the weight.
You can’t make this up.”
Stevenson quickly fired back.
“Bill, you could trick the idiots on here, but u ain’t tricking me. Y’all must need me right now 😂😂”
The comments come days after Shakur questioned why he should be expected to move up to welterweight to make a fight with Haney.
After Haney stated that a fight between them would be one of boxing’s biggest events, Shakur replied:
“And let me guess, I gotta come to your weight class to make the fight happen just because u say so?”
Haney answered by inviting Stevenson to fight him at welterweight.
“Whenever u decide to come to ‘my weight class,’ let’s do it! I’ll fight your brother Keyshawn for now..”
Shakur’s response was brief.
“Will do.”
While neither side has announced formal negotiations, the recent exchanges have highlighted one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of the fight.
Haney has already moved up to the welterweight division, while Shakur has built his career at lightweight and has only recently competed above 135 pounds. Stevenson has repeatedly questioned why he should be required to move to Haney’s preferred weight to secure the bout.
The social media feud continues, but the latest comments suggest neither side is backing away from its position regarding where a potential showdown would take place.
