Ancelotti’s Brazil Deal Still Uncertain but Not Dead Yet | Football news at 1000Goals.com: Football Betting, Highlights, and More

Carlo Ancelotti’s future after potentially leaving Real Madrid at the end of this season is currently in limbo. The well-decorated tactician looked set to leave Los Blancos and take the Brazilian national team coach, but that plan might be changing.

Ancelotti’s Deal with Brazil Still Uncertain

The experienced Italian manager is reportedly set to leave Madrid following their Champions League quarter-final exit against Arsenal and Copa del Rey loss to Barcelona. Although Madrid still has a shot at winning the La Liga title, it looks like Los Blancos’ management has decided to change course next season.

Reports from multiple sources, including transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, revealed that Ancelotti was on course to take the Brazil national team job for the upcoming World Cup 2026. Both parties reportedly had a verbal agreement already, with the Italian set to be one of the best-paid national team managers.

The former AC Milan and Chelsea boss was supposedly set to start his role with Brazil from June 2025, but that plan might have caused the deal to collapse. According to Revelo, Real Madrid are blocking Ancelotti’s exit as they will only let him leave on their terms.

Ancelotti’s  Brazil Move Could Still Happen

Madrid are reportedly not keen on paying for Ancelotti’s exit fee if he departs before his contract is up, which technically means Brazil can’t have the coach available in June.  The Selecao, on the other hand, are not willing to wait for a new coach as they have World Cup qualifier games already in June.

However, the latest reports from Marca in Spain suggested that there’s still a hope that Ancelotti’s move to the five-time World Cup winner will happen. Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, is said not to be planning to stop their current tactician’s plan to take the Brazil national team job.

This means that Ancelotti will eventually be allowed to leave Madrid, as they do plan to sign a new coach for next season. Despite not getting the preferred result so far this season, Perez has no personal problem with the Italian tactician.

Nevertheless, both Ancelotti and Madrid’s president are currently only focusing on finishing the season and fighting for the La Liga title. Only after the current season is over will they discuss the future, including the coach’s.
