Anthony Gordon or Bradley Barcola: Which attacking starlet could top Arsenal’s summer wishlist?

Clinching their spot in the final of this season’s Champions League last week and claiming a hugely controversial 1-0 victory away at West Ham on Sunday, Arsenal are on the cusp of making major history.

Now within touching distance of getting their hands on a first Premier League crown since way back in 2004, Mikel Arteta’s side are reportedly planning another hectic summer behind the scenes.

Breaking the bank last summer following the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon in a deal worth £64million, it has been suggested that Arteta is keen on adding to his attacking options once again.

With continued speculation over the future of both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, German international Kai Havertz has also dealt with a string of injury issues this season.

While the Gunners might have their sights completely focused on securing a first domestic title in over two decades, the Emirates hierarchy are already putting together Arsenal’s summer preparations.

Reportedly hard at work to get their business done before this summer’s World Cup gets underway, Arsenal are eyeing a pair of Europe’s hottest attacking starlets.

Anthony Gordon – Newcastle

While Anthony Gordon might have returned to Eddie Howe’s travelling squad for Sunday’s 1-1 stalemate away at Nottingham Forest, the England international was left as an unused substitute and the 25-year-old appears destined to be at the heart of a major transfer saga this summer.

Although the former Everton starlet might have four years remaining on his current deal at St. James’ Park, he has reportedly made it clear to Newcastle that he is actively seeking a move away from Tyneside when the transfer window reopens.

Despite bagging 18 goals across all competitions this season and leading the chase for Newcastle’s Golden Boot, Howe has made his frustrations public and Sky Sports are reporting that the Magpies are willing to allow their lead goalscorer to permanently leave the club this summer.

Linked with a potential move to north London during the January window, Mikel Arteta’s side have the 25-year-old high on their summer wishlist and have identified him as one of their key attacking options.

However, while Arteta might reportedly be a long-term admirer of the 17-cap international, the Gunners are more than aware that they have a real tussle on their hands.

Alongside recent links over a potential move to Barcelona, Champions League semi-finalists Bayern Munich have already held initial conversations with the St. James’ Park hierarchy and have made their intentions clear over what would be a blockbuster summer switch.

🚨 Anthony Gordon has concrete chances to leave Newcastle this summer.

Bayern started contacts to be informed since February, he’s part of three-men shortlist for new winger.

Premier League clubs could join the race; Liverpool not concrete so far.

Bradley Barcola – PSG

Claiming a remarkable 6-5 aggregate victory against Bayern Munich earlier in the week and now 90 minutes away from successfully defending their maiden Champions League crown, PSG have cemented their spot as Europe’s new poster boy.

With an all-star attack that has rightfully received a fearsome reputation from across the continent, Luis Enrique has one of the most potent forward lines in world football.

However, despite being on the cusp of shattering even more records over the coming weeks, it has been suggested that one of their attacking superstars is open to a new adventure outside of the French capital.

With reigning Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele getting back to his clinical best and Georgian skipper Khvicha Kvaratskhelia enjoying a remarkable goalscoring run on the European stage, Bradley Barcola has been forced to settle for a spot on the bench.

Although Enrique might have been filled with praise for the French international, Barcola has not made consecutive starts since returning from March’s international break.

Registering 17 direct goal contributions for club and country this season (13 goals, four assists), the 23-year-old reportedly has plenty of European giants who are monitoring his situation.

MundoDeportivo reported over the weekend that Arsenal are the latest club to register their interest and many around north London would consider his arrival as a major coup.

🚨🆕 Arsenal are closely monitoring Bradley #Barcola and have gathered all the relevant information.

Arsenal – like FC Bayern, Barcelona, Liverpool and others – are looking for a new top player/talent for the left wing.
