Arsenal have already agreed to sign their own version of Morgan Rogers

Arsenal come into this transfer window with the weight of expectation upon them.

The pressure may finally be off after winning a first Premier League title in 22 years but as a result of that triumph, it gives them a wonderful opportunity to attract some of the finest talent in Europe.

It’s likely the Gunners will start further up the pitch where Bournemouth’s young superstar Eli Junior Kroupi is a key target for Mikel Arteta and Co. That said, boasting an £80m to £100m price tag, the Cherries are evidently in no mood to sell.

Julian Alvarez could also be on the menu but likewise his current price tag at Atletico Madrid is simply astronomical.

There is a sense that the former Manchester City attacker would be the most game-changing addition this summer but lest we forget, Morgan Rogers is a primary target too.

The latest on Arsenal’s pursuit of Morgan Rogers

One of Arteta’s fundamental strategies in the transfer market since becoming Arsenal manager has been to sign players from Premier League clubs.

The likes of David Raya and Declan Rice have been transformative after arriving from Brentford and West Ham United respectively.

In Rogers, the Gunners will hope to repeat that success. Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier this week that Arsenal have held talks with the player’s camp.

Club to club talks are yet to get underway but it is widely thought he could cost over £80m to prise away from Villa Park this summer.

What would Rogers bring? Well, that crucial know how of the Premier League ticks plenty of boxes for Arteta’s side, as does his availability.

The 23-year-old has only missed two league games since the start of 2024/25 and one of those absences was due to a suspension for an accumulation of too many yellow cards.

Crucially, however, he’s a mighty fine young player. Whether it be on the left flank or through the middle as more of a no.10, Rogers is exceptional.

He has scored 14 goals in consecutive seasons for the Villans and is assisting them in equal measure too. He registered 16 assists in 2024/25 before picking up another 12 in 2025/26.

A canny operator who’s incredibly direct and aggressive with his actions in the final third, this would be a fabulous signing for the Gunners.

That said, what if Arsenal have already signed their own version?

Arsenal are already signing their own Morgan Rogers

Much of the chatter in recent days has surrounded Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga.

Aged just 27, the Gunners are reportedly closing in on his signing. It continues a strong run of youth recruitment from Arsenal who have done a phenomenal job of securing some of the world’s top talent.

Leicester-Monga

Alongside Monga, Andrea Berta and Co have already wrapped up a deal to sign another teenage duo. They go by the name of Edwin Quintero and Holger Quintero.

Both just 16 years of age, they currently play for Independiente del Valle in Ecuador and agreed pre-contract moves to join Arsenal during the latter stages of 2025.

If you aren’t familiar with the notoriety behind that fine club in South America then the first thing to know is that their youth system is one of the best on the planet.

It’s a production line to have already generated PSG’s William Pacho, Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and Kendry Paez, as well as Arsenal’s Piero Hincapie.

They have multiple other players bound for European shores with central defender Deinner Ordonez having already agreed a move to Chelsea. Arsenal have raided them too and in the form of the Quintero twins, they may have plucked two of the finest young players on the globe.

Edwin is perhaps the most exciting. Scout Jacek Kulig grouped him among the best teenagers on the planet at the start of 2025. That list also featured a certain max Dowman; that’s how special he is.

A right winger by trade, his brother is more of an attacking midfielder and resembles Rogers very well.

Morgan-Rogers-Villa

Described as a technically gifted, right-footed attacking midfielder, as Rogers is, Holger Quintero boasts a series of attributes that are seriously impressive.

Como scout Ben Mattinson outlines how he is a “decisive creator with a killer final ball” while the aforementioned Kulig has hailed him as a “magnificent technical prospect with superb close control and flair.”

What also separates Holger from his peers is a remarkable level of agility that makes him really tricky to stop in one v one situations.

Clips of the player online show how he is brilliant at driving forward with the ball in central areas. Coincidentally, that’s one of Rogers’ best traits and also a major reason behind why Arsenal want to sign him; he’d offer immense threat in the middle in a direct and aggressive way that Martin Odegaard doesn’t possess.

Rogers may very much be all about the present but in Holger Quintero, they may well have snapped up their very own version already. His potential is enormous and this is a pre-agreed signing that’s going under the radar among supporters.

That said, we will have to wait to see him in action. The twins have visited the Emirates and the training base at London Colney but cannot officially join until they turn 18. As a consequence, they will become Arsenal players in the summer of 2027.
