Thomas Kristensen has revealed what his transfer plans could look like this summer amid interest from Aston Villa.
Kristensen confirms “proposals” amid Aston Villa interest
With PSR concerns awaiting them once again this summer, Aston Villa’s game against Nottingham Forest on Thursday is simply a must-win. Winning the Europa League remains one of two routes into the Champions League for those in the Midlands, and recent form suggests it may well be the best route.
Champions League qualification could do wonders for their ability to attract top players, let alone the financial boost it would provide. And that’s why Kristensen could be one to watch.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, via Sport Witness, Aston Villa are interested in signing Kristensen this summer and the defender has certainly made it clear that his long-term future does not lie at Udinese.
He told Campo, as relayed by Sport Witness: “Yes, I can confirm that [Udinese wants to extend]. It’s not the first time that this has happened. They came after a year and a half already.
“The situation is that we had a plan when I came that I would play for a period, so that I could then also take a leap from there again. So, it is clear that it is in our plans that the step should be taken further.

Aston Villa suffered a dismal defeat to Tottenham on Sunday evening.
“When that will be, we will have to see. But yes, there has been some contract extension talk and some proposals there, yes. In the short term, it’s quite likely that the next step should be to a bigger club, perhaps one playing in Europe. I wouldn’t rule that out.”
Kristensen is ready for big move
Kristensen’s confidence suggests that he’s ready for a big move and his ability only backs that up. The Dane has played his part in another solid, albeit unspectacular, campaign at Udinese and could earn the ultimate reward as a result.

The 24-year-old hasn’t been a world away from Ezri Konsa’s level this season and that’s a real credit to him. Out of possession, he especially stands out and makes Udinese’s reported €25m (£22m) asking price look like a bargain.
It’s also a price that would not signal any red flags for Aston Villa’s PSR problems and that could send Kristensen’s name flying up their list of priority signings.
Whether those in the Midlands do push on and turn their interest into an offer remains to be seen, however. Unai Emery certainly wouldn’t say no to added depth, especially at the right price.
