Competition: Europa Conference League

Market: Omonia win

Odds: 1/1 @ BetUS

Looking to claim a first-leg advantage when they open their Europa Conference League play-off adventure on Thursday night, Omonia will welcome Rijeka to the GSP Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, while Omonia might have signed off their Europa Conference League group stage adventure with a 1-0 loss at the hands of Polish high-flyers Rakow, it appears that toothless display was nothing more than a minor blip. Holding a commanding eight-point buffer at the top of the First Division table and cruising their way to an historic 22nd domestic crown in 2026, the Shamrocks are enjoying what has become an extended purple patch and they will be excited to get their play-off campaign underway on Thursday night. With the mood in Henning Berg’s camp at a red-hot high, the Cypriots giants will be confident of claiming an essential first-leg advantage here. Extending on their fairytale last time out as they stormed their way to a routine 3-0 victory against Paralimni, Omonia are pencilled in as a standout contender in midweek. In fact, Berg’s side have won nine of their previous 10 appearances across all competitions.

As for the visitors, making a much-welcomed return to winning ways last time out as they secured a 3-1 victory at home against Varazdin, Rijeka will be desperate to use that performance as a platform to build on. However, despite shattering a string of records last season as they got their hands on just a second Croatian crown, Victor Sanchez’s side have already accepted that they will immediately relinquish their title this time around. Currently sat 16 points adrift of runaway leaders and domestic foes Dinamo Zagreb, the former Malaga boss is searching for some crucial stability. Getting February underway with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Osijek, Thursday’s guests have recorded just a sole win from any of their previous four appearances across all competitions. Likewise, falling to a 2-1 loss when they last travelled to Omonia for a European showdown way back in 2006, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

Bet: Omonia 1/1 to beat Rijeka in Thursday’s Europa Conference League battle @ BetUS
