A call has been made to all EFL clubs with fans urged to sign a hugely important petition, to ‘Put a Lifeline on Every Seat.

sayitlad.com are an anonymous space for lads to leave and listen to voice notes as we try and break the stigma behind men’s mental health.

Say It Lad tweeted: “Please can we get your support by signing below. We are trying to get QR codes on seats in the EFL, we need to make these things easy for us lads.”

Put a Lifeline on Every Seat: A Call to All EFL Clubs – Sign the Petition! https://t.co/v4FS5K9rXa via @UKChange

Please can we get your support by signing below. We are trying to get QR codes on seats in the EFL, we need to make these things easy for us lads 🖤https://t.co/Pbj9PIRUEx pic.twitter.com/U6MAxnyYTK

THE PETITION READS:

The goal is straightforward: get every professional football club in the UK to put NFC and QR codes on the backs of matchday seats. This gives every lad in the stands instant, anonymous access to mental health support without having to leave his seat or say a word out loud.

We’ve all heard the old line that men don’t talk. It’s a myth. At Say It Lad, we see the reality every day. Thousands of men are ready to speak up; they just haven’t had a space that feels right for them. We aren’t a clinical service or a corporate box-ticking exercise. We are the UK’s first anonymous voice note platform built by lads, for lads. We know that sometimes typing a message is too much effort and a phone call is too intimidating. Sending a voice note feels like talking to a mate, and that’s why it works.

Football is where we gather, but for many, those ninety minutes are the only escape from the pressure building up at home or work. Right now, if a fan is struggling, the burden is on them to go and find help. They have to search for a number or walk through a door that feels a mile wide. We’re changing that by bringing the help directly to them.

We are calling on every EFL club to lead the way by placing discreet QR and NFC stickers on the back of every stadium seat.

It’s Immediate: No searching or waiting. The support is right there at your fingertips.

It’s Anonymous: A lad can reach out on his phone during the halftime break without the person sitting next to him ever knowing. It’s Frictionless: It removes the “bravery” required to ask for help. It’s just a tap of a phone.

We have the backing of ex-pros and health experts who know the culture of the game inside out. Now, we need the clubs to step up. This is the simplest, most cost-effective way to protect the people who fill the stands every week. It’s time to stop expecting men to find the way out on their own and start putting the signs right in front of them.

Sign this petition to tell your club: Put a lifeline on my seat.

In an update given on February 4th, petition maker Jonny Human wrote: “Hi all, I wanted to let you know that we now have 17 signatures on this petition. Thank you so much for your support!

“Would you help me get more signatures by sharing this petition with ten other people on social media? Facebook groups, SMS chats, X, email and WhatsApp all work great. If more of us sign, we can’t be ignored! Thanks again for supporting this cause.”

The signatures are currently at 123, so get on and sign it.

A Springett goal, Makama hatty & @sayitlad now on the ground 🖤 Thank you @NorwichCityFC 🙌 #ncfc #mentalhealth pic.twitter.com/NxlVwZxvJi
