The 2024/25 Champions League has reached the quarter-final stage and some of Europe’s biggest clubs are conspicuous by their absence.

Manchester City and Liverpool are among the top teams who have failed to reach the last eight despite being touted as potential winners before the competition started.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are now the joint-favourites on football betting sites to lift the title, while Paris Saint-Germain have also come in for plenty of support.

Read on as we look at the quarter-final draw and latest outright betting, before assessing which teams will progress to the last four.

Champions League 2024/25 – Quarter-final draw

Arsenal vs Real Madrid
Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund
Paris Saint-Germain vs Aston Villa
Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan

Paris Saint-Germain – 15/4
Bayern Munich – 11/2
Arsenal – 7/1
Inter Milan – 11/1
Aston Villa – 25/1
Borussia Dortmund – 40/1

Champions League 2024/25 – Quarter-final preview

Barcelona bounced back from the disappointment of losing their opening league phase game at Monaco to breeze into the last-16 of the competition.

Their subsequent 4-1 aggregate victory over Benfica was functional rather than spectacular, but that will not concern manager Hansi Flick.

Borussia Dortmund are next on the agenda and it is tough to imagine them have the quality to trouble Barca over a two-legged tie.

The La Liga outfit triumphed 3-2 in Dortmund on Matchday 6, and they look a good bet to progress to the semi-finals with the minimum of fuss.

Madrid were unimpressive during the league phase, but have stepped things up to defeat Man City and Atletico Madrid to reach the quarter-finals.

They were fortunate to see off the challenge of their local rivals in the last-16 and will need to play much better when they face Arsenal.

The Gunners have recorded some thumping wins on their way to the last eight – most notably a 9-3 aggregate victory over PSV Eindhoven in the previous round.

Arsenal will hope to grab a first leg lead at the Emirates Stadium, but the reigning champions should possess too much know-how over two games.

PSG also struggled to produce their best form in the league phase, but stepped things up to demolish Brest in the knockout play-off round.

They were unfortunate to lose 1-0 at home to Liverpool in the last-16, but produced a stellar display to go through after a penalty shoot-out at Anfield.

The Ligue 1 giants are the favourites to beat Villa in the quarter-finals, but they would be well-advised not to underestimate the threat they pose.

Manager Unai Emery is a specialist in winning cup competitions and he will believe he can guide Villa past the club he previously managed.

Bayern head into their quarter-final tie against Inter bidding to keep themselves on track to contest another Champions League final on home soil.

They were defeated by Cheslea at the Allianz Arena in 2012, and have their sights firmly set on going one better this time around.

The Bundesliga giants eased past Bayer Leverkusen in the previous round, but will not find things as easy against Inter in their quarter-final meeting.

Simone Inzaghi’s side defeated Feyenoord 4-1 on aggregate in the last-16 and have the ability to cause Bayern problems if they produce the same level of performance.
