Welcome to another episode of the Arsecast – the Arsenal podcast.
In this episode I’m joined by first by Sam Dean to discuss the ins and outs of Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid last night, a result which sends us through to the Champions League final. We chat about the team selection and Mikel Arteta keeping faith with the team that beat Fulham, Atletico’s tactical approach in the first half, Bukayo Saka’s goal which ultimately won the tie, the way the second half played out, the perception of the two managers differing despite similarities in touchline behaviour, and how it felt like there was a real moment of communion between the team and fans as the final whistle went and the celebrations began.
There’s also a quick chat with James as we react to a first CL final in 20 years and only the second in the club’s history, what it all means and feels like from a fan perspective, how this might impact the rest of our Premier League campaign and more.
