There’s an argument to be made that England currently have the best group of players that they’ve had since the 1966 World Cup victory and that is reflected by some eye-watering weekly salaries.

Even those outside of the Premier League are able to boast impressive wages these days, especially those who have made the decision to join the Saudi Pro League.

But who earns the most? Are Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich heroics enough to claim top spot? Football FanCast have ranked the highest-earning English players in football right now.

Here’s a detailed look at England’s top 10 earners…

10

Marc Guehi (Man City)

£250,000-a-week

Marc Guehi scores for England

Coming in at No.10 is a player who secured a well-earned move to Manchester City in the January transfer window. Marc Guehi, having taken Crystal Palace to shock FA Cup glory and a subsequent place in the Europa Conference League, had plenty of options as he looked to move on from Selhurst Park.

Ultimately, it was a move to the Etihad that he chose alongside the hefty contract offer that came with it. The England centre-back now reportedly earns a staggering £250,000-a-week and £13m-per-year.

9

Reece James (Chelsea)

£250,000-a-week

Reece James

There was a time when it was difficult to say what the future holds for Reece James. He spent most of his time in the treatment room. Any England call-up seemed unlikely as a result of his availability and not his ability. Those days are seemingly behind him, however, and he has more than earned his impressive salary.

The Chelsea captain reportedly earns £250,000-a-week in West London, which translates to £13m-per-year just like international teammate Guehi.

8

Jadon Sancho (Man Utd)

£250,000-a-week

jadon-sancho-aston-villa

Jadon Sancho is still a Manchester United player and all it takes is one look at his salary to realise why. Earning a hefty £250,000-a-week (£13m-per-year), the winger has proven to be one of the biggest transfer flops in Premier League history.

Sancho’s future has looked destined to be away from Old Trafford for some time, but whether he finally finds a permanent move away rather than another loan spell remains to be seen.

7

John Stones (Man City)

£250,000-a-week

john-stones-man-city

With his contract coming to an end this summer, John Stones may not have his place on this list for too much longer. As things stand, however, the Manchester City defender – earning £250,000-a-week and £13m-per-year – remains one of the highest-earning English players in football right now.

The former Everton man certainly deserves his place. He’s a serial winner these days and will go down as one of the most decorated England defenders in history when he leaves the Etihad.

6

Mason Mount (Man Utd)

£250,000-a-week

Mason Mount scores for Man United

It’s not just Sancho who’s on big money at Old Trafford, for Mason Mount is also among England’s top earners. And, like Sancho, he hasn’t quite made the impact he was hoping for at Man United, despite earning £250,000-a-week.

Initial injuries far from helped the former Chelsea man, who still has time to turn his fortunes around and avoid becoming yet another transfer flop at the club.

5

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Real Madrid)

£277,895-a-week

When Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool as a free agent off the back of winning his second Premier League title, he broke Anfield hearts but left behind an undeniable Premier League legacy.

Now, at Real Madrid, the right-back reportedly earns a staggering £277,895-a-week and over £14m-per-year to make him one of the highest-earning England players in football right now.

4

Jack Grealish (Man City)

£300,000-a-week

jack-grealish-everton

Jack Grealish’s loan spell at Everton sent the Premier League a timely reminder of his quality and exactly why Man City tied him down to a £300,000-a-week contract a number of years ago.

The winger remains one of the highest-earning England players, despite the fact that he’s not played a key role at the Etihad for some time. It speaks volumes of the talent that he was at Aston Villa that City made him the fourth-biggest earner amongst England players.

3

Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)

£347,243-a-week

jude-bellingham-real-madrid

Jude Bellingham was always going to be high on this list, as one of the best midfielders that football has to offer. He is the man for the big occasions and his £347,243-a-week salary reflects that at Real Madrid.

Bellingham’s senior career path

Birmingham City 2019-2020

Borussia Dortmund 2020-2023

Real Madrid 2023-Present

The former Birmingham man has enjoyed quite the career path so far and is on course to become an England great if the Three Lions reach their goals. And he’ll be doing so whilst earning the big bucks.

2

Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)

£416,758-a-week

England's Harry Kane celebrates scoring their second goal

Many consider Kane to be the best England striker of all time and it’s hard to argue with that. The Bayern Munich striker carried Tottenham Hotspur on his back during his prime years, before finally ending his wait for a trophy at Bayern Munich.

It’s in Germany that he’s become England’s second-highest earner at £416,758-a-week, which translates to an astonishing £22.6m-per-year.

1

Ivan Toney (Al-Ahli)

£425,260-a-week

ivan-toney-al-ahli-saudi-pro-league

Before Ivan Toney has the chance to blink, he’s made money in the Saudi Pro League. The former Brentford striker headed towards the riches in 2024 and has not looked back, earning a reported £425,260-a-week – almost £22m a year.

So, despite Kane’s legacy and Bellingham’s place as one of the best midfielders in Europe, it is the Al-Ahli man who sits at the very top as the highest-earning English player in football right now.
