United States midfielder Sam Coffey (17) and defender Naomi Girma (4) celebrate a goal by forward Ally Sentnor (9) during the SheBelieves Cup against Canada at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in Columbus on March 4, 2026. The United States won 1-0.

The second match day of the 2026 SheBelieves Cup went down on Wednesday in Columbus, Ohio, and it was filled with close games. The day started with Colombia defeating Argentina 1-0 and finished with the United States beating Canada 1-0.

Sentnor’s second half goal is game changer

In the second game of the day, the United States beat Canada 1-0. Ally Sentnor scored the game’s only goal, finding the back of the net in the 55th minute on a play that began with a Rose Lavelle corner kick.

This game featured a more seasoned starting lineup than Sunday’s, and the experience seemed to make the difference as the U.S. was able to hold onto a tight lead over a truly tough competitor. Alongside Lavelle and Sentnor, strong performances came from Naomi Girma, who held down the defensive line; Phallon Tullis-Joyce, who displayed confidence in the net, and Alyssa Thompson, who had two strong attempts on goal, though both were saved by Canadian keeper Kailen Sheridan.

The U.S. has now won two games in the SheBelieves Cup and is in a great position to win the entire tournament come Sunday’s game.

Caicedo lifts Colombia over Argentina

In a game with precisely 50-50 ball possession, it was a lone goal from Colombia’s Linda Caicedo in the 64th minute that lifted her team over Argentina to secure the win in day 2 of the SheBelieves cup. This was Colombia’s first result of the tournament after losing 4-1 to Canada on Sunday, the tournament’s opening day.

It was a tight and low-scoring match, with neither side breaking through in the first half. Halfway through the second half, the dynamic Caicedo was able to convert a setup from teammate Leicy Santos and find the back of the net. Argentina couldn’t equalize and has now lost two straight games in the SheBelieves tournament.

On Sunday’s final match day, Colombia will face the United States and Argentina will take on Canada.
