Le Fee ‘only focused on the pitch’ amid Liverpool rumours

Enzo Le Fee insists he is only focused on matters on the pitch amid speculation linking the Sunderland midfielder with a move to Liverpool.

Le Fee has caught the eye as Sunderland have enjoyed a strong first season back in the Premier League following promotion via the Championship play-offs last season. The Black Cats have long since secured their Premier League survival, and were unfortunate not to beat Manchester United in a 0-0 draw on Saturday.

The Frenchman has scored four goals and provided five assists this campaign, leading to rumours of interest from last season’s Premier League champions.

While Le Fee is flattered by such talk, it is not what he is concentrating on at present, as he continues to enjoy playing for manager Regis Le Bris, who brought him through the ranks at Lorient.

“I think he gave me a lot since I’m 12 now,” Le Fee said of Le Bris.

“I enjoy working under him. It’s always good to hear something like this [the Liverpool rumours], but it’s only the media part. I just care about the end of the season. I think we’ve got two big games now, and I’m only focused on the pitch.

“I’ve enjoyed a lot of my time here since I came, since the first day.

“I think we’ve got a really good relationship between me and the fans. I think it’s because of them, because I’ve had a really good welcome. Of course, sometimes they can like what I do.

“They say it’s a bit of magic, but they also like it because I fight. I’m small, I’m not a big guy, but I give 100% in every duel. Sometimes I can lose some duels, but I will give 100% every time.

“I think that’s what they like. I think I love this part. Before I wasn’t someone who could fight like this, but I knew that if I wanted to be the top player, I needed this part, so I’ll keep working on this.”
