Liverpool suffered a late-minute disappointment in their weekend Premier League clash as they were beaten by Crystal Palace in added time. Meanwhile, Manchester United failed to continue their previous positive result after picking a 3-1 loss against Brentford.

Last Minute Goal Stunned Liverpool

The Reds were hunting for their sixth consecutive league win as they travel to face Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Both teams met earlier this season in the Community Shield, which saw the Eagles winning the pre-season trophy via penalty shoot-out.

Things seem to be heading towards Palace’s favor once again, as they managed to get themselves in front through Ismaila Sarr after just nine minutes of play. Liverpool tried to bounce back after the break, and they did manage to draw level as Federico Chiesa netted home in the 87th minute

However, in stoppage time, Palace stunned Arne Slot’s men as Oliver Grasner’s side scored through Eddie Nketiah’s close-range finish. There was no more time for Liverpool to get back into the tie as they suffered their first defeat this season.

Man United Beaten by Brentford

Meanwhile, Manchester United struggles to maintain another positive result as they were beaten by Brentford 3-1. Igor Thiago opened the scoring for the Bees after just eight minutes before doubling his tally in that game on 20 minutes.

Man United regained their confidence as Benjamin Sesko pulled one back on 26 minutes, which lasted until halftime. Ruben Amorim’s side thought they got back on level terms as the referee awarded them a spot kick in the 76th minute.

Unfortunately, Bruno Fernandes’ spot kick was saved by Brentford’s goalie Caoimhin Kelleher, keeping the home team’s 2-1 advantage. Eventually, it was the Bees that secured all three points as Mathias Jensen snatched his team’s third in added time.

Premier League Full Saturday Results:

Brentford 3-1 Man United; Leeds United 2-2 Bournemouth; Chelsea 1-3 Brighton; Man City 5-1 Burnley; Nottm Forest 0-1 Sunderland; Tottenham 1-1 Wolves; Aston Villa 3-1 Fulham; Crystal Palace 2-1 Liverpool.
