In what is an all-Premier League showdown on Wednesday night, Newcastle and Fulham will look to punch their respective EFL Cup semi-final tickets when they meet at St. James’ Park.

Suffering major heartbreak away at their arch-rivals over the weekend, Eddie Howe’s have once again continued to show some worrying inconsistencies and the Magpies have plenty of expectations on their shoulders here.

Managing to claim what was an essential Premier League boost on Saturday as they dragged themselves away from a looming relegation scrap, Fulham will be desperate to spring a real upset in midweek.

With all eyes falling on St. James’ Park on Wednesday night, we have taken a look at some of the most attractive Newcastle vs Fulham Bet Builder Tips.

Newcastle’s success at St. James’

Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny over the weekend as they fell to a 1-0 loss away at Premier League returners and arch-rivals Sunderland over the weekend, Newcastle have once again show some extended inconsistencies.

Failing to record consecutive victories across all competitions since the end of October, it has been suggested that Howe finds some increasing pressure on his shoulders.

However, marking their return from November’s international break with a stunning 2-1 win against Manchester City, the former Bournemouth boss will be excited to make a return to St. James’ Park here.

Last seen on Tyneside landing another 2-1 victory against relegation scrappers Burnley, Newcastle have gained a reputation for their success on home soil.

In fact, Newcastle are unbeaten in all of their previous eight consecutive showdowns in front of their own supporters (seven wins, one draw).

Bet Builder Tip: Newcastle win @ 7/10 with 1xBet

Defensive issues continue to haunt Howe

Although Newcastle might have signed off November with a thumping 4-1 romp away at Everton, the reigning EFL Cup champions are searching for some crucial defensive steel.

Falling to that 1-0 defeat away at the Stadium of Light on Sunday afternoon, Howe will certainly have a mounting headache over his side’s extended defensive struggles.

Suffering Champions League frustration away at French outfit Marseille on November 25th, Wednesday’s hosts have failed to muster a single clean sheet from any of their previous eight appearances across all competitions.

Heading into November’s international break with a 3-1 defeat against Brentford, Howe’s leaky defence have also registered just a sole clean sheet since the end of October.

It should also be noted, the last three showdowns between Wednesday’s opponents have produced 10 goals at both ends of the pitch.

Bet Builder Tip: Goal to be scored in both halves @ 7/10 with BetUS

Keep an eye on Wilson

With Brazilian marksman Rodrigo Muniz still dealing with a recent hamstring issue, many around west London were wondering who would spearhead Fulham’s charge in the final third.

Although veteran striker Raul Jimenez might have recorded just a single Premier League strike since the end of September, Harry Wilson has quickly blossomed into Marco Silva’s leading man.

Once again finding the net during Fulham’s 3-2 victory away at Burnley on Saturday, the one-time Liverpool youngster is enjoying what has become a sensational run of form.

Bagging a famous World Cup qualifying hat-trick against North Macedonia on November 18th, the 28-year-old has now registered 11 direct goal contributions in his previous eight appearances for club and country.

Looking to test what has become a leaky Newcastle defence on Wednesday night, Wilson could be smelling the chance to steal centre stage at St. James’.

Bet Builder Tip: Harry Wilson over 0.5 shots on target @ 5/6 with Dachbet
