Preston’s Paul Heckingbottom claims Swansea City’s tunnel ‘smelt of weed’ after Snoop Dogg’s first visit to the stadium.
The Swans’ co-owner Snoop Dogg was in attendance for the 1-1 draw, and fair to say it was quite an atmosphere from the pre-match walk around the pitch to Liam Cullen’s 95th minute equaliser.
Daniel Jebbison’s volley from close range on 26 minutes had Preston ahead into a first-half lead from close range. Preston fans sang “Snoop Dogg, what’s the score?”.
Liam Cullen scored a 95th-minute equaliser against Preston North End to provide the hip-hop superstar’s grand appearance with a thrilling conclusion.
The result sees Preston, who have taken six points in their last seven games, drop down to 10th in the Championship, five points from of the playoff places. Swansea stay 14th, three points further back.

After it was suggested to him that his players were potentially walking into an ‘intense’ atmosphere, Preston boss Paul Heckingbottom said: “It wasn’t was it?
“It was quiet. We kept them quiet. That’s how we played. Our fans were the loudest.
“We only let them have their occasion at the very end by conceding.
“So that’s the frustrating thing.”
On the atmosphere being potentially different to other games: “I can’t tell. It’s only different for people who are here every week, isn’t it? It’s not different for us.
“We don’t play at Swans every week, so it’s no different for us.
“We go away to Ipswich the other week, they were at it, their fans were at it, and that was noise all game.
“It was just a game for us and we kept, I felt, everyone quiet until the end.
“I think just the smell of weed in the tunnel is the only thing where we realised something was different.”

On the game: “I’m pleased with lots of things, pleased with the performance, just obviously really frustrated, upset with not taking three points.
“How we started the game, the work rate without the ball was excellent. It allowed us to win the ball a lot and make a team that’s been playing really well here look average, but then we were also really good with the ball as well.
“We kept them quiet, that’s how we played. We only let them have their occasion at the very end by conceding the equaliser.”
Swansea head coach Vitor Matos, on Snoop Dogg: “After the game he came to the dressing room and spoke with the players.
“He’s someone that likes to be involved, not only with us but with the (United States) Olympic team as well.
“He loves sports, loves sports people. He loves the club, loves the city, and wants to be here.
“I think that’s all positive and he was really happy because he felt that the team had the right mentality. He felt that the team could push.”
On the game: “We created chances in the beginning of the second half but didn’t score. If we had scored that chances, maybe the history of the game could change as well, but the most important is that we kept pushing, fighting.
“We always kept the momentum even when they would miss a pass or there was a situation where the things didn’t go our way.
“Then we came back again with a good spell. I think that was massive. In the end, we got the goal, really good goal from Liam, really happy for him as well. Got one point, let’s move on.”
