With plenty of work to do this summer, Liverpool have now burst into the race to sign a central defender after his club struck an early agreement.
Salah is incomparable, says Jurgen Klopp
Jurgen Klopp back at Anfield wearing red will be a welcome sight for every Liverpool fan this weekend following a tumultuous season under Arne Slot.
The German is back in the dugout to take charge of Liverpool’s legends against Borussia Dortmund’s legends and had the chance to have his say on Mohamed Salah’s legendary Anfield career.
The Egyptian announced that he would be leaving the Reds at the end of the season earlier this week and the tributes have poured in ever since. Klopp, who took charge of the majority of Salah’s time at the club, went as far as to claim that the winger is simply incomparable.
“I cannot compare with others really, only with the people and players I worked together with. But in my time, and since I’m really following or working for Liverpool, he’s definitely up there with the greatest. But I don’t have to say that because you read the numbers, you know already there’s something special.”
A three-time PFA Player of the Year winner and three-time Golden Boot winner, it will take quite the player to follow in Salah’s footsteps. By the time that May arrives, he will take his place as arguably the best player that Liverpool have ever had in the Premier League and one of their greatest players of all time.
But whilst the praise continues to arrive, Liverpool’s problem nears ever closer. They’ve got the task of somehow replacing their Egyptian King this summer. It’s their very own mission impossible made tougher by the fact that they still need to sign another centre-back on top of that.
With Ibrahima Konate still on course to leave as a free agent this summer, those at Anfield have turned their focus towards a Serie A star.
Liverpool burst into race to sign Ndicka
As reported by Caught Offside, Liverpool have now burst into the race to sign Evan Ndicka ahead of Spanish giants Barcelona – hoping to get one over on their European rivals.

The former Crystal Palace star has been a revelation in Bavaria.
AS Roma may have no choice but to cash in on the defender after reaching financial agreements with UEFA which could force them to sell key players before June 30.
If that is the case, then Liverpool could land a bargain deal by matching Roma’s €45m (£39m) asking price when the transfer window swings open.

Although Ndicka is available at a bargain price, Liverpool should question his underlying numbers. The Roma man has made more recoveries and kept more clean sheets than Konate this season, but his duel success is an area of concern.
In the current state of the Premier League, which requires a level of physicality, Ndicka would have to improve those numbers if he arrived at Anfield this summer.
