The January transfer window is heating up for Serie A teams as several top clubs, including AC Milan, are working to add some signings. Massimiliano Allegri’s men are reportedly continuing their attempt to sign Crystal Palace’s Jean Philippe-Mateta. Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman looks set to finally leave Atalanta and join Atletico Madrid.

Milan Pushing to Get Mateta in January

AC Milan are not finished improving their attack this January. Despite moving for Niclas Füllkrug, the Rossoneri are still working on a deal for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Multiple reports suggest Milan have already reached an agreement with Mateta’s representatives. However, Crystal Palace have yet to give the final approval.

Palace reportedly accepted Milan’s €30 million offer, but only for a summer transfer. Now, following a direct request from Massimiliano Allegri, Milan want to complete the deal in January.

The Premier League side remain open to selling Mateta this winter. However, they will only let him leave once they secure a replacement.

Crystal Palace have identified Wolves striker Jørgen Strand Larsen as their main target. Talks are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached so far.

As a result, Milan continue to wait. The Rossoneri remain patient while pushing Palace to finalize their plans before the transfer window closes.

Lookman Set to Leave Atalanta for Atletico Madrid

Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman looks set to finally leave Atalanta. The Nigerian forward is close to joining Atletico Madrid after weeks of speculation.

The move would end Lookman’s spell in Bergamo and give Diego Simeone another attacking option for the second half of the season. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano stated that Atleti will sign the Nigerian international for a fee of 35 million Euros plus 5 million in add-ons.

Lookman is ready to fly for his medical before officially signing his contract with the La Liga outfit. The 28-year-old is finally getting his wish of leaving Atalanta, as he already planned to move away last summer.

The former Fulham attacker received several offers, notably from Inter Milan back in the summer transfer window. However, Atalanta couldn’t agree on a transfer fee with the Nerazzurri, forcing the player to remain at Bergamo.

Another intriguing transfer move involves Juventus who is set to secure the signature of former Sassuolo star, Jeremie Boga. Meanwhile, Inter saw their attempt to loan Liverpool’s Curtis Jones fell short as the Reds are not keen on letting their midfielder depart.
