The Reds played out an exciting second leg from the double header against the Bhoys this afternoon at Celtic Park, following on from the initial tie at Old Trafford last year, which saw the visitors triumph on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
This edition also ended level after normal time (2-2), and Celtic were again the victors via a spot-kick shootout.
All shirts from the fixture are being auctioned in aid of Manchester United Foundation – the associated charity of Manchester United.
Founded in 2007 as a lasting tribute to the Busby Babes, the Foundation delivers community outreach and education programmes to help young people in Manchester and other outreach areas in the United Kingdom to build a better life for themselves, by providing unique opportunities which extend far beyond just the football pitch. By day, this includes working in more than 70 partner schools, while by night, free community football sessions are delivered for young people at more than 20 locations in areas of the highest social deprivation.
