The United States Women’s National Team enters another international window with a host of regulars and new faces as Emma Hayes continues to experiment with the squad. They won both games convincingly, beating China and Jamaica by big scorelines, but most impressive were the performances across both games.
The team is still currently in a period of transition, and Emma Hayes is using every opportunity to tinker and discover the right balance of youth, experience, and emerging talent. New additions like Lo’eau LaBonta, Kerry Abello, and Claudia Dickey have joined the fold, while recent debutants such as Avery Patterson, Michelle Cooper, Claire Hutton, Emily Sears, Emily Sams, and Olivia Moultrie are being given continued opportunities to impress.
The likes of Tara McKeown and Lily Johannes demonstrated their versatility and composure, but it was forward Ally Sentnor who truly stood out, potentially positioning herself for a more prominent role in the squad moving forward.
