The 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix had a weekend attendance of 105,000 – the largest figure in Bahrain International Circuit’s 21-year history on the Formula 1 calendar.
Bahrain International Circuit welcomed a sold-out weekend attendance of 105,000 at the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix. It is the largest figure in the event’s history on the calendar, which began in 2004 when Bahrain became the first country in the Middle East to host a Formula 1 race.
Race day attendance was 37,700 – a new single day record crowd for the event an increase of 700 from the 2024 race day figure of 37,000. The total weekend number increased by 5,000 from last year’s figure of 100,000.
Aside from the Formula 1 action. Formula 2, Formula 3 and Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East bolstered the on-track line-up at the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix weekend. There were also three headline concerts from DJs R3HAB, Peggy Gou, and Axwell.
2025 Bahrain Grand Prix: Attendance Figures Grow Year-On-Year
2025 Bahrain Grand Prix organisers announced that all grandstand tickets for the race weekend had sold out two weeks prior to the race weekend. This is the first time in a decade that year-on-year attendance has grown by as much as 5,000 spectators.
Coronavirus-impacted seasons aside, weekend attendance figures at the Bahrain Grand Prix have grown steadily in every season since 2012, when attendance was 70,000. Only the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix in 2004 had a lower attendance, with 68,000 in attendance for F1’s first race in the Middle East.
Bahrain International Circuit has one of lowest capacities on the Formula 1 calendar, with around 50,000 seats across the circuit’s eight grandstands. The main grandstand has capacity for around 10,500 while the Victory Grandstand was expanded by 500 seats in 2024. It is estimated that around 40% of tickets for the Bahrain Grand Prix are bought by international visitors.
The Bahrain Grand Prix holds a contract to remain on the schedule until at least 2036. The race is likely to take place in April once again in 2026, due to the timing of Ramadan. F1 Attendances Up On 2024
All four races so far in the 2025 Formula 1 season have had larger attendance figures than in the 2024 season. The season-opener in Australia had a weekend figure of 465,000 – an increase of over 10,000 on the previous year. The Chinese Grand Prix had a weekend total of 220,000, an increase of 20,000 on the 2024 figure, while the Japanese Grand Prix had a three-day audience of 266,000, up by 37,000 compared to the previous year.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is next on the F1 calendar, taking place next weekend and completing the first triple header of races in 2025. Then, the Miami Grand Prix takes place in early May before F1 kicks off its European season with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola on May 18.
