“Honestly, it wasn’t a bad race at all,” said Bearman, who last scored points in Bahrain with a run to 10th.
“We were in a really good position, going for the one-stop, so when the VSC came out we switched onto the medium [tyres]… I was coming out of the pits just behind [George] Russell, and he was P7 at the end.

“We were on for a good race, I think, but unfortunately my wheel wasn’t attached properly in the pit stops.”
Reflecting on the weekend as a whole, following the latest batch of Haas updates, Bearman continued: “The pace was good and the car felt good all weekend.
“There’s been quite a few points that we need to brush up on, I don’t think it’s just… it’s a number of things. [Qualifying] was totally out of our hands, but we have a bit of work to do to put things together.”
