Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez welcomed 401,326 fans over the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix weekend – a slight decline on last year’s figure.
The 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix had a weekend attendance of over 400,000. This was the third year in a row that attendance at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez surpassed 400,000 – though this year’s figure was a slight decline on last year’s number.
In the race that marked a decade since Mexico’s return to the Formula 1 calendar, Lando Norris re-took the lead of the Drivers’ Championship with a dominant drive to victory, winning by over 30 seconds.
Despite the slight decline in attendance – from 404,958 in 2024 to 401,326 in 2025, around 1,000 fans per day – the event was still described as “sold out”. This was the first time since Mexico’s return to the calendar that there was no Mexican driver on the grid, although IndyCar star Pato O’Ward made an appearance with McLaren in Free Practice 1.
Sergio Perez, a two-time podium finisher at his home event, was axed from Red Bull at the end of the 2024 season. His dismissal is unlikely to have too much of an impact on attendance numbers, as tickets were available prior to the announcement that Perez would not be on the grid in 2025.
The Third Best-Attended Race in 2025
The 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix ranks as the third best-attended race of the season, behind the 4-day race weekends in Britain (500,000) and Australia (465,000). Attendance at the United States Grand Prix was also likely higher than the figure in Mexico but no official number has been announced for the Austin race weekend.
The Mexican race is likely to have been the last of the season to attract a weekend attendance upward of 400,000. There are four races remaining in 2025. The next race, in Sao Paulo, attracted a weekend crowd of just under 300,000 last year. The Las Vegas Grand Prix follows, which suffered a decline in attendance last year – down to 306,000 from 315,000 in its inaugural season. The season-closing Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix attracted more modest weekend attendances of 155,000 and 192,000 last year.
F1 is still on track to exceed its record overall attendance figure of 6.5 million, set in 2024. Attendance for races so far this year totals 5.34 million – though that does not include races in Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan or Austin, which have not yet announced official figures for the 2025 event.
