The Canadian Grand Prix is one of the best-attended and most-loved events on the Formula 1 calendar. After an enforced two-year absence due to the coronavirus pandemic, the race returned to the schedule in 2022 with record attendance figures. Following huge demand for tickets once more in 2025, Montreal is set to embrace F1’s return with a range of events and activities across the city in the days leading up to the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix.

Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival

Crescent Street is the place for Formula 1 fans to be over the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix weekend. The street gets closed off over the race weekend, having hosted top tier entertainment for motorsport fans at each running of the Grand Prix since 1999. Footfall in excess of 650,000 is expected.

Since 2023, under the event’s new owner-operator Feldman Entertainment Quebec Inc., the event has run for four days. This year it takes place on June 12-15, from 11:00 to 23:00 each day.

The Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival features DJ sets, local musical acts, pit stop challenges and nightly stage shows. The full programme for this year is yet to be announced, but among the highlights for F1 fans last year were opportunities to get up close to Alpine and Williams’ F1 show cars, along with other luxury vehicles. F1 merchandise is usually on sale at various stalls throughout the area.

Be sure to check out the best pubs, clubs and restaurants in the vicinity during your visit. A full programme of festival events can be found on the official website.

Francos Music Festival

This year, the French-language music festival Francos, in downtown Montreal, coincides with Canadian Grand Prix weekend. Taking place from June 13-21, a range of local and international acts are on the bill at this event, which covers all genres from folk to hip-hop.

The 36th edition of the festival will feature performances from the likes of Fred Fortin (June 12-13), Fredz (June 14) and Louis-Jean Cormier (June 13-15). Outdoor performances are free to attend. The full line-up can be found on the official event website.

Mural Street Art Festival

The Mural Street Art Festival takes place on Boulevard Saint-Laurent from June 5-15. The annual free international festival has been running since 2013 and is a celebration of creativity and urban art. The event showcases massive murals and other artworks created in front of your eyes. There’ll be art, live music and street food. Find out more via the event’s website.

Attend the Maison SI Party

Billed as “race weekend’s most exclusive event”, Maison SI 2025 takes place at Windsor Station. Formerly known as the Maxim Grand Prix Party, the event will be a star-studded affair celebrating the race weekend. Top tier DJs will be performing, with performances from French DJ Hugel on Friday June 13 and Australian music producer Fisher on Saturday June 14.

The 2025 event runs from 21:00 on both Friday and Saturday. General Admission tickets, which include access to the main indoor area and the outside courtyard, are available from $175 CAD per day. Further information about VIP tickets can be found on the event website.

Grand Prix Party at Ritz-Carlton

Got space for formal wear in your suitcase? On Friday June 13, you can party like it’s the 1950s at The Ritz-Carlton on Rue Sherbrooke Ouest for a special “Ritz Royale” themed evening. The official hotel partner of the Mercedes Formula 1 team, the Ritz-Carlton’s black tie event will take place from 18:00 until 02:00 and will feature live musical performances, gourmet stations, signature cocktails and an open bar.

A percentage of ticket sales for the Grand Prix party will be donated to the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation, a charity which aims to improve mental health care in Canada. General admission tickets are priced from $1,000 CAD. More information and tickets can be found here.

Le Richmond’s Grand Prix Themed Events

The Le Richmond restaurant, at 377 Ave Richmond in the Griffintown district, will host a number of lavish events over the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix weekend, running from June 12-14. Three nights of circus themed events culminate with the Red Carpet Party on Saturday night, which is the place to be seen over race weekend.

The event will include gourmet bits, a premium open bar, immersive entertainment and luxury hospitality. Tickets are priced at $500 CAD. Further information can be found via the restaurant’s website.

At Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

Of course, the main event is the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix itself, taking place at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on the Ile Notre Dame island, as it has done since 1978. The three days of Formula 1 action will be complemented by a range of support series.

Joining F1 on track this year will be Porsche Carrera Cup North America and, for the first time, the all-female F1 Academy series. A pit lane walk will take place on Thursday, though fans needed to apply for a ticket through a random draw via the circuit newsletter. Read our Trackside post for the full on-track schedule at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and more advice about attending the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix.

There's plenty to see and do in Montreal during your trip to the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix

What else is happening in Montreal over 2025 Canadian Grand Prix weekend?

Experience world-class entertainment at La Voûte, a converted bank vault, after the race on Sunday June 15. THE CODE 20 presents an after party which usually runs through to 07:00 on Monday morning! Round out your weekend with music and drinks. Tickets available via the website, and there are other events taking place at the venue across race weekend.

Head to Centre Eaton de Montreal on Sainte-Catherine Street West, where you’ll find a racing simulator and pitstop challenge from June 12-15.

Business owners in Peel Street will be bringing the festival atmosphere to the city with the now traditional Formule Peel event. Featuring fashion, music and gastronomy – and usually a line up of classic sportscars to get up close with on the street!

Soubois club will be celebrating the Grand Prix with a week full of special events. Check out a different headlining DJ each night!

New City Gas at 950 Ottawa Street is putting on special events over the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix weekend. As part of their GP25 events, G-Eazy and Don Diablo will headline.

Congolese artist GIMS headlines the Bell Centre on Friday June 13, while James Blunt headlines at Place Bell on the same night.

Keep an eye out across downtown Montreal for other businesses celebrating Grand Prix weekend. Expect kiosks, street food, freebies and merchandise from a range of companies across the city.

Even more ideas for how to spend your time away from the track on 2025 Canadian Grand Prix weekend can be found in Off Track Activities.
