Rise of the Prospects brought Cage Series 10 to The Rialto Theatre in downtown Tucson on Saturday night, and the card didn’t waste anyone’s time. Fifteen bouts. Three title fights. Twelve finishes. The main event was over before the crowd had fully settled into the result, and the professional heavyweight title had a new owner.

Here’s every result from fight night.

Main Event | Pro Heavyweight Title (265 lbs)

Daniel Trejo def. Dan Almario | TKO – Strikes | Round 1 | 2:06

Daniel Trejo (@superdupersabretooth) came out with intent and didn’t need much time to prove it. He pressured Dan Almario from the open and kept the heat on until the referee stepped in at 2:06 of round one. Trejo leaves Tucson as the pro heavyweight champion. Short night. Big result.

Amateur Title Fights

Amateur Title | 105 lbs Lexxi Moncada def. Enemencia Perez | Unanimous Decision | Round 3 | 3:00

Lexxi Moncada (@papas_chicas) went the full three rounds to take the amateur 105 lb title. She was consistent from start to finish against Enemencia Perez, and when the final horn hit, all three judges agreed. This was the longest fight of the night — a title fight that required every second of it.

Amateur Title | 135 lbs Miguel Tamayo def. Andres Camacho | TKO – Strikes | Round 2 | 2:10

Miguel Tamayo (@migueltamayo1990) added a second amateur belt to the night’s results. He pressured Andres Camacho through round one and finished the job in round two with TKO strikes at 2:10. Tamayo takes the amateur 135 lb title.

Full Amateur Card Results

The amateur card opened at 6:00 PM, and from the first bout forward, fighters came ready to finish.

Amateur 155 lbs | Ibrahim Sadi def. Jose Cardoza | Submission (RNC) | Round 1 | 0:39

Ibrahim Sadi (@ibrahim_sadi) set the tone for the entire night. He had Jose Cardoza tapping to a rear-naked choke at 39 seconds. The fastest submission on the card, and one of the fastest finishes overall.

Amateur 125 lbs | Gabriel Enriquez def. Nicolas Rosenthal | Submission (RNC) | Round 1 | 1:33

Gabriel Enriquez (@g.baby.125) followed the script. He worked Nicolas Rosenthal to the mat, locked in the rear-naked choke, and got the tap at 1:33 of round one.

Amateur 135 lbs | Jonathan Davison def. Luis Hernandez | TKO – Strikes | Round 2 | 2:35

Jonathan Davison (@jonathan__davison) pushed Hernandez through the first round, kept the pressure consistent, and got the TKO finish in round two at 2:35.

Amateur 185 lbs | Jaquincy Driver def. Corey Matthews | TKO – Strikes | Round 1 | 1:29

Jaquincy Driver had Corey Matthews stopped at 1:29 of round one. Short night at 185 lbs.

Amateur 170 lbs | Julian Gonzalez def. Jake Sylvestre | KO | Round 1 | 0:34

Julian Gonzalez (@julianrazcon17) dropped Jake Sylvestre and the fight was over at 34 seconds. One of the more explosive moments of the night, and a statement performance at 170 lbs.

Amateur 265 lbs | Vincent Tallabas def. Noah Merrill | KO | Round 1 | 0:16

Sixteen seconds. That’s all Vincent Tallabas (@vincent_t_mma_) needed. He knocked out Noah Merrill at 0:16 of round one, the quickest stoppage of the entire card. If you stepped away for a second, you missed it entirely.

Amateur 145 lbs | Edward Gonzales Jr. def. Paul Kovrig | Submission (RNC) | Round 1 | 1:47

Edward Gonzales Jr. put the rear-naked choke on Paul Kovrig and got the submission at 1:47. Clean finish, no stalling.

Amateur 125 lbs | Cesar Labrado def. Mohammed Alnaham | TKO – Strikes | Round 1 | 2:57

Cesar Labrado (@elninolabrado) controlled the stand-up at 125 lbs and got the TKO at 2:57 of the first round. Kept it on the feet and made it work.

Amateur 145 lbs | Victor Lopez def. Devin Tran | TKO – Strikes | Round 2 | 2:23

Victor Lopez (@victorlopez5055) worked through round one and got sharper in round two. The TKO came at 2:23, a disciplined finish after a full first round of work.

Amateur 155 lbs | Marco Salcido def. Raylon Pitterson | Split Decision | Round 3 | 3:00

Marco Salcido (@marcosalcido) and Raylon Pitterson were two of only three fighters on the card who saw a judges’ scorecard. Salcido earned the split decision, but Pitterson pushed all three rounds and made him work for it.

Amateur 135 lbs | Austin Wheeler def. Danny Martinez Navarro | Unanimous Decision | Round 3 | 3:00

Austin Wheeler (@theaustinwheeler) was steady across all three rounds against Danny Martinez Navarro. He controlled the pace and took the unanimous decision at the final bell.

Amateur 170 lbs | Alyk Lopez def. Mike Kennedy | Submission (RNC) | Round 3 | 1:06

Alyk Lopez (@alykfuccinglopez) was patient for two rounds, picked his spot in the third, and locked in the rear-naked choke at 1:06. The submission came late but it came clean.

By the Numbers

Fifteen bouts. Twelve finishes. Four rear-naked choke submissions, six TKOs by strikes, two knockouts, two unanimous decisions, one split decision.

The fastest finish: Vincent Tallabas at 0:16. The only fight that required all three rounds in a title context: Moncada vs. Perez at the amateur 105 lb belt. The card covered eight weight classes, from 105 lbs to 265 lbs, with both amateur and professional mixed martial arts action on the same night.

That finish rate tells a real story about where the regional Arizona MMA scene is right now. Fighters aren’t showing up to survive. They’re showing up to end things.
