PGA Tour’s new FedEx Cup Fall schedule includes interesting changes

Scottie Scheffler’s Procore Championship win in September came with a question the World No. 1 probably didn’t expect.

We’re a year out. Do you see yourself returning to defend?

Scheffler was only in Napa for a Ryder Cup tune-up with his teammates. Scheffler barely beat out teammate Ben Griffin, leaving Lanto Griffin in third place, wishing Scheffler hadn’t been in the field. With Napa not being a regular stop in Scheffler’s schedule, the four-time major champion left wine country without a definitive answer on whether he would defend his title.

“I barely know what I’m going to do tomorrow, let alone a year from now,” Scheffler said at the time. “It’s always nice to have an opportunity to come and defend your championships, but we’ll have to cross that bridge when we get there. I’ve been pretty consistent with that over time. I don’t like committing to tournaments unless I know for sure I’m going to play.”

However, Scheffler no longer has to answer that question after the PGA Tour released its 2026 FedEx Cup Fall Schedule without the Procore Championship in the lineup. The Procore Championship is held at Napa’s Silverado Country Club, which has hosted an event in consecutive years since 2007. The Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi, is also no longer on the docket. The tournament in Jackson has been a part of the PGA Tour slate in some form or another since 1968.

The FedEx Cup Fall slate is an eight-tournament sprint to determine PGA Tour cards and eligibility for the upcoming season. With the Procore Championship now off the schedule, the fall slate will now begin at the Biltmore Championship Asheville in North Carolina at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. This is the first PGA Tour event in the area in more than 80 years, when Ben Hogan won the Asheville Open in 1940, 41 and 42.

After stopping in Asheville, the PGA Tour will head to the Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert Resort before going overseas for the Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Japan. The Butterfield Bermuda Championship will be the fourth stop in the fall slate before the Tour heads to Mexico for a two-stop swing with the VidantaWorld Mexico Open and the World Wide Technology Championship.

The PGA Tour will then head to Austin, Texas, for the Good Good Championship at Omni Baron Creek Resort and Spa. This will be the inaugural Good Good Championship and will be the Tour’s first tournament in Austin in three years.

The FedEx Cup Fall season will conclude at the RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf Club.
