For the eighth time, Sydney, Australia will host the octagon on Jan. 31 for UFC 325: Volkanovski vs. Lopes 2.
The fight card is headlined by a featherweight championship rematch between titleholder Alexander Volkanovski and No. 2 ranked Diego Lopes. The fight promotion announced the headliner on Thursday.
The two first fought last April at UFC 314. Volklanovksi defeated Lopes via unanimous decision in Miami that night for the vacant championship. Ilia Topuria had relinquished the title to move up the lightweight division chasing two-division champion status. With the win over Lopes, Volkanovski became a two-time featherweight titleholder.
Prior to the UFC 314 loss to Volklanovski, Lopes (27-7) was riding a five-fight winning streak. He rebounded at Noche UFC 3 with a dramatic TKO win over Jean Silva.
UFC 325: Volkanovski vs. Lopes 2 takes place at Qudos Bank Arena, a 21,000 capacity arena in Sydney Olympic Park.
