UFC flyweight fighter Maryna Moroz (11-6) has been suspended one year for a failed drug according to the Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD), the UFC’s official drug-testing partner.
The 33-year-old Ukrainian fighter Moroz tested positive for meldonium on two separate tests: one from a June 25 sample and one from July 16.
Meldonium, also known as Mildronate, is a drug developed in Latvia for treating heart conditions that is banned in sports due to its performance-enhancing effects. While it is available over-the-counter in Eastern Europe and some other countries, it is not approved for use in the United States.
Moroz has not fought since March 2024 and is on a three-fight losing streak dating back to November 2022.
Because she was cooperative during the investigation, her suspension was reduced by one year from the standard two-year suspension for meldonium and she is eligible to compete again on July 17, 2026.
Three years ago, “the Iron Lady” Moroz became the first UFC fighter to be featured as a Playboy Centerfold model.
