Jake Paul’s relationship with Netflix continues to go from strength to strength. The YouTuber kickstarted a new dawn for the media powerhouse, being the first to introduce live boxing events to the platform when he featured alongside Mike Tyson last year.

Since then, several big fight cards have been available to watch live on Netflix. Women’s boxing took a huge step in the right direction with Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor being afforded a headlining slot, and Terence Crawford put on a final showcase for fans ahead of retirement, all broadcast on Netflix.

Despite the plethora of big fights on the streaming service, nobody’s numbers have come close to Jake Paul’s. Paul broke records with the total viewers that tuned in for his fight against Tyson, but how does his fight against Anthony Joshua compare?

Intrigue filled the air as Joshua made his walk to the ring. A true championship-level boxer, young enough to still be considered one of the best in the world.

The challenge in front of him was anything but a traditional opponent for Jake Paul up to this point in his career. The excitement of the unknown was present, as 33 million global viewers tuned in, either hoping to see Paul shock the world or Joshua hand the influencer the first knockout of his career.

Paul vs. Joshua now ranks third for viewership in the list of live Netflix boxing events. The fight comes slightly behind Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford, who drew an estimated 41.4 million viewers.

However, still sitting atop the list 13 months on from the event is Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Pairing a superstar in Tyson with a controversial social media star in Paul was a stroke of genius from all involved.

The fight drew over 108 million global viewers, peaking at around 65 million concurrent streams.
