Ryan Garcia causes streamer to vomit and scream after body shot, resulting in 911 call

Despite all of his talent in the boxing ring, Ryan Garcia has a difficult time staying out of troubling situations outside of competition.

Even with his two losses in the span of just two years, which is considered a significant number in the modern era of the sport, ‘King Ryan’ remains a favorite in the boxing universe. The controversial figure is shamelessly himself, and though it has sometimes led to backlash from fans, the 27-year-old continues to be authentic.

His personality has caught the attention of the streaming world, with Ryan Garcia making several appearances on popular live streams.

During his time with the streamers, boxing is often a topic of conversation, and Garcia shows a willingness to involve the online personalities in his demonstrations. As we’ve seen with many fighters around the world before, a common occurrence when he appears on the broadcasts is the body shot challenge.

Ryan Garcia will give left hooks to the body, as the person opposite him will try to withstand the hits, sometimes wearing protective gear. This rarely goes wrong, with the man or woman often bowing out after one or two shots, unharmed.

However, that wasn’t the case when streamer Zavala welcomed the challenge. With his hands over his head, Zavala ate just one of Garcia’s hooks to the body, leaving him in visible discomfort.

Zavala dropped to the floor, clutching the boxer’s legs, reminiscent of a poorly executed single-leg takedown. Moments later, he walked to the bathroom, where he allegedly vomited. The stream was then cut short as 911 was called for the man’s well-being.

Delivering body shots to willing streamers is a regularity for Ryan Garcia, so what changed for this one to unfold so badly?

Excluding Zavala’s pain threshold, one major difference between this shot and others was the positioning of the victim. The streamer had his back firmly planted against the wall as the punch landed, meaning he absorbed the entire force of the strike.
