Two men were found guilty earlier this week after a failed assassination attempt on former UFC fighter Suman Mokhtarian in February 2024.
Mokhtarian was shot dead in Riverstone, New South Wales a year later in 2025, but no arrests have been made in connection to the murder.
According to a report by the Daily Telegraph, the Parramatta District Court found two men, Noah Touma, and Usman Chami, guilty of the failed assassination attempt of Mokhtarian. Police arrested the suspects and charged them with attempted murder, but later released them on bail due to insufficient evidence. The duo pleaded not guilty to the alleged crime, but a jury of 12 found them guilty of plotting the murder of the late UFC fighter.
The men have not yet been connected to the 2025 shooting that took the fighter’s life.
Mokhtarian held a professional mixed martial arts record of 8-2 and exited the UFC in 2019 after dropping two bouts in a row and an exhibition on the Ultimate Fighter Season 27.
He and his brother Ashkan Mokhtarian, who also fought for the UFC, had links with the Alameddine crime network, an organized crime group in Australia.
