Good news for audacious (some might say foolhardy) bettors.
UFC already wrote the script for its upcoming Nashville event on July 12 at Bridgestone Arena in Tennessee, and according to headlining heavyweight Derrick Lewis, the plan is to have “The Black Beast” win by knockout and extend his current record to 16.
“It’s scripted,” Lewis told Ariel Helwani. “It’s part of the script. The whole UFC is scripted. It’s part of the plan, so July 12th, they want me to win by first-round knockout.”
“It’s part of the script,” Lewis continued. “So whoever wants to make that bet, go ahead and make that bet, because everything is scripted.”
That would result in a pretty good payday for bettors taking Lewis at his word, considering “The Black Beast” remains a sizable underdog ahead of his Octagon return. The 40 year-old Texan has a bad back and dropped four of his last six dating back to early 2022.
Teixeira, 25, is 8-0 with seven of those wins coming by way of knockout.
