Kevin Durant and Chris Paul exchanged words multiple times in the second quarter of the San Antonio Spurs’ win on Thursday over the Phoenix Suns. Durant and Paul were assessed with technical fouls with 3:17 left in the first half.
“He like gimmicks,” Durant said after the game. “He’ll try anything to win a game. I think he was just trying to get in my head. I was heating up right around that time, too. I think he was just trying to get in my head, get me to react, get me out the game. As we kept talking, I knew it was just a game.”
Durant and Paul were briefly teammates together with the Suns and also on the 2016 Olympics.
