LeBron James is expected to be out until around mid-November as he recovers from a sciatica issue, reported Shams Charania of ESPN.
“The Lakers and LeBron are looking at around mid-November as a realistic debut for him,” said Charania. “And so October 30th would be the earliest that the Lakers would be officially re-evaluating LeBron James.”
Charania added that James, who is taking his time with the rehab process, would still need time to warm up into the season.
“It is expected he will need at least a few weeks after that point. A source told me tonight that LeBron would be taking a patient approach with this rehab from a nerve injury. And so the ramp up process for this would be a lot of basketball shape conditioning work.
“LeBron James first suffered this nerve issue during an on-court workout in late July, early August. He wasn’t able to have that normal LeBron James offseason that we’re accustomed to,” said Charania.
James is set to miss the first opening night of his career.
James, who is entering his 23rd season in the league, turns 41 in December.
