Luka Doncic is set to make his preseason debut on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns, according to JJ Redick.
Doncic has missed all three Lakers’ preseason games thus far.
Redick also said that Doncic will play either against the Mavs or the Kings as the Lakers close out their preseason schedule.
Marcus Smart, who has missed preseason due to Achilles tendinopathy, is also set to make his debut on Tuesday.
Redick said that he is still figuring out his starting lineup as the Lakers open the season without LeBron James.
“You want to put your five best players on the court as much as possible. You also want to have balance with every lineup. When we do our substitution metrics: Who is going to guard? Who is going to create? Are we going to have enough shooting? So you’re doing that with every lineup you put out there, including the starting lineup,” Redick said.
