While the Milwaukee Bucks have their hands full to dig out of a 2-0 hole in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs, there’s at least one less thing to worry about.
Milwaukee inked general manager Jon Horst to a multi-year extension on Thursday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Thursday.
Horst was appointed as Milwaukee’s GM in 2017 and has since led the team to eight consecutive playoff appearances. Milwaukee has a .647 win percentage under Horst, the second-best in the NBA since he took over, according to Charania.
The 42-year-old won Executive of the Year in 2019 after the Bucks made a 16-win jump and finished a league-best 60-22, tied for their third-most wins in a single season in franchise history. Horst also helped lead Milwaukee to a title in 2021, its second championship and first since 1971.
Horst has routinely proven he’s not afraid to make bold moves in an effort to keep his roster competitive around two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
He acquired Jrue Holiday in 2020 en route to a title and traded for nine-time All-Star Damian Lillard last year.
