The NBA is reportedly set to probe Trent Jr.’s four-year, $64-million extension with Milwaukee, a league spokesperson told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Thursday.
The reason for the league’s probe was not initially reported.
Trent Jr. and the Bucks finalized the deal on Thursday, which will keep him in Milwaukee through the 2029-30 season.
He originally joined the Bucks as a free agent ahead of the 2024-25 season, signing a two-year vet minimum with a player option in the second year. Then, in July 2025, he opted out of the deal and signed another two-year deal with a player option in Year 2.
This summer, after getting bird rights, he put pen to paper on the four-year deal with Milwaukee.
However, it comes after a lacklustre season with the Bucks, during which he averaged 8.1 points, 1 rebound and 1.2 assists in only 21.2 minutes per game. He laced up for 65 contests, but came off the bench in all but 21 of them.
