Freshman seasons like the one that Leominster, Mass., native Dylan Vigue had at Michigan are rare in today’s world of college baseball. The 6-foot-3, 219-pound right-hander, who had some early success as a Futures League All-Star in the summer of 2023, started 11 of his 15 games for the Wolverines.
He struck out 40 batters in 54 2/3 innings last spring before posting a 3.86 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 23 1/3 frames for Yarmouth-Dennis on Cape Cod.
Carrying his high upside into a draft-eligible sophomore season, the former All-ISL arm at Groton is likely to serve in a Friday night starting role.
Wolverines pitching coach Brock Huntzinger, a former Boston Red Sox farmhand, dives into Vigue’s skillset and where he’s at entering 2025.
