Some of the top local high school and college prospects faced off Tuesday evening in the first-ever Northeast Prospects Game, ahead of the 2026 MLB Draft.
A Futures Collegiate League prospect team hosted the Northeast Scout Team, led by New York Yankees Northeast Area Scout Matt Hyde, who signed Futures League alumni Ben Rice (Dartmouth College/Worcester Bravehearts) and Cam Schlittler (Northeastern University/Nashua Silver Knights) in recent years.
The Northeast Prospects Game took the place of the traditional Scout Day events at previous years’ Futures League All-Star Games, when a Northeast Scout Team played exhibition games against Futures League clubs.
