Five-star Ikenna Alozie, the No. 9-ranked overall player in the 2026 recruiting class (per On3), is down to his final eight schools.
Gonzaga Bulldogs
Louisville Cardinals
Kansas Jayhawks
Washington Huskies
Alabama Crimson Tide
Kentucky Wildcats
Arizona Wildcats
Houston Cougars
The Zags just started recruiting Alozie, so they have some catching up to do. Alozie is originally from Lagos, Nigeria, and is looking for a family atmosphere in his choice of a college. Gonzaga very much has that feeling.
“I still don’t know much yet because they started recruiting me late. So it’s a new program and new recruitment process for me.” – Ikenna Alozie on Gonzaga via On3’s Joe Tipton
“I’ve been away from home for a long time. Honestly, somewhere that’s going to take me in and make me family. That’s the first thing I’m looking for. Somewhere where I am going to feel like home again.” – Ikenna Alozie via On3’s Joe Tipton
He plays his high school ball with Dream City Christian in Arizona and his AAU ball with the Utah Prospects on the Nike EYBL circuit. At the prestigious NBPA Top 100 Camp, Alozie averaged 16.0 points on a 55.6 three-point percentage, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
Alozie is explosive when making his first move and getting downhill. As a defender, Alozie is willing to guard the ball full court, something coaches love to see out of such a young, still not completely polished prospect.
Although primarily playing point guard right now, he should be more of a combo guard at the next level. Alozie announced not too long ago that he was planning an official visit with the Zags sometime in June, which would mean that he should potentially be at Spokane Hoopfest this weekend. He’s also setting up trips with the Kentucky Wildcats, Kansas Jayhawks, Louisville Cardinals, and Houston Cougars.
Along with Alozie in the Class of 2026, Gonzaga is targeting No. 1 Tyran Stokes, No. 12 Toni Bryant, No. 20 Cameron Holmes, No. 46 Sam Funches, and No. 62 Dean Rueckert (rankings per On3). Stokes and Funches are also preparing official visits with the Zags in the near future.
