Few experts gave No. 19 Texas Tech a chance in its showdown with unbeaten No. 3 Duke in Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. And for a while, the Blue Devils looked to have their 12th victory secured.
Duke led by as many as 17 points in the second half, but thanks to a late 8-0 run, the Red Raiders rallied to take an 81-80 lead. Cameron Boozer hit one of two free throws to tie the game before Texas Tech guard Christian Anderson tacked on his 27th point at the free throw line with a few seconds left. Boozer’s 3-point attempt at the buzzer came up short, giving the Red Raiders a marquee win.
