The Clemson Tigers are reportedly set to begin a home-and-home series with one of the most well-known college basketball programs in the Big East.

College hoops analyst Rocco Miller reported Monday that the Tigers will face the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. The Hoyas will play at Clemson’s Littlejohn Coliseum in 2026-27, per the report.

Georgetown plays its home games at Capital One Arena, the same venue that hosts the NBA’s Washington Wizards and NHL’s Washington Capitals. Clemson played one game there in the 2024 ACC Tournament where they fell to Boston College.

The Tigers and Hoyas have met only one other time in the schools’ history: at the Rainbow Classic tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2004. Coach John Thompson’s team defeated the Tigers, 75-60, on Dec. 23.

Clemson finished the 2024-25 season with a program-record 27 wins and 18 ACC victories. Coach Brad Brownell’s Tigers were a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament and fell to McNeese State in a first-round upset on March 20 in Providence, Rhode Island. Clemson finished 27-7 overall and was ranked No. 22 in the final AP Top 25 poll.

Georgetown is coming off an 18-16 season. The Hoyas went 8-12 in Big East play in coach Ed Cooley’s second season.

Clemson basketball 2025-26 schedule

Clemson recently learned its opponent for the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge. For the second time in three years, the Tigers will head to Tuscaloosa to face the Alabama Crimson Tide at Coleman Coliseum. An exact date and start time were not announced. Last season, Clemson upset No. 4 Kentucky, 70-66, in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Dec. 3 at Littlejohn Coliseum.

The Tigers will also head to Madison Square Garden to play in this year’s Jimmy V Classic. They’ll face the Brigham Young Cougars on Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Clemson and BYU have both made the NCAA Tournament in each of the past two seasons.

Also on the nonconference schedule is the annual Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic in South Carolina. Clemson will join Georgia, Xavier and West Virginia in the first bracket. Boston College, Davidson, Tulane and Utah State will be in a separate bracket at the tournament.

Clemson’s annual rivalry game against South Carolina is scheduled to return to Littlejohn Coliseum this year. The teams have not announced an official date.
