Five-star wing DeMarcus Henry, out of the 2027 recruiting class, has received an offer from the Gonzaga Bulldogs after assistant coach Stephen Gentry saw him compete at Nike EYBL in Memphis, Tennessee, over the weekend of May 15. Henry competes with Team Why Not, which is based out of Los Angeles, California.
Along with the Zags, he also received offers from the Kentucky Wildcats, Arkansas Razorbacks, North Carolina Tar Heels, Kansas Jayhawks, and UConn Huskies.
The 6-7, 190-pound prospect plays his high school ball for Arizona Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona, the same academy that sophomore wing Davis Fogle attended. Henry previously played for powerhouse Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California.
He’s the brother of incoming Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., who was the No. 24-ranked recruit in the Class of 2026. He’s also the son of former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, who tragically passed away in 2009.
Per 247 Sports, Henry ranks as the No. 12 overall recruit in the Class of 2027, the No. 3 small forward, and the No. 3 player in the state of Arizona.
Gonzaga’s 2027 recruiting class currently only consists of four-star point guard Dooney Johnson from Milwaukee Juneau in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. That commit alone pushes the Zags to the No. 5-ranked class in all of college basketball.
