One of the greatest to ever suit up for the Zags was recently waived by the Indiana Fever after getting drafted with the No. 33 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 WNBA Draft. That doesn’t mean her drive to keep hooping doesn’t stop. Yvonne Ejim will suit up once again for her home country of Canada at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup this summer.

The tournament will be held in Santiago, Chile, from June 28th through July 6th.

Canada‘s 12-player roster for the FIBA women’s AmeriCup has been revealed.

Canada has won the AmeriCup a total of three times (1995, 1997, 2017) and finished in third place in 2023. The top six of the 10 teams will qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin, Germany, from September 4th through 13th.

No. 7-ranked Canada is in the same pot as No. 1-ranked United States. Canada will open up against El Salvador on June 28, Argentina on June 29, the defending champion Brazil on June 30, and the Dominican Republic on July 2.

In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Ejim only played three minutes in the 79-70 loss to Nigeria and grabbed two rebounds. Canada didn’t move past group play and finished in 11th place.
